Buying Real Estate at Auction

We understand that the thought of buying a home at auction can be somewhat intimidating. Most people only buy 1 or 2 homes in a lifetime. The truth is that buying a home at auction is a pretty simple process. The team at Enlisted Auctions would love to help you through each step.

Step 1. Determine your financial boundaries

The first in home buying, whether it is through a traditional real estate brokerage or buying at auction, is to determine your spending budget. For most buyers, this means a trip to your bank. Your lender can review your options and pre-approved you for a loan. The lender will give you all the details about the interest rates, monthly payments, loan terms, and more. Enlisted Auctions can recommend a lender if you are unsure of where to start.

Step 2. Start shopping

There are so many choices while looking for a home. The National Association of Realtors has invested millions into a website, www.realtor.com, to help make the search a little easier. Using this website, you will be able to weed through the houses that are not a fit and find a list of homes that are candidates for a closer look.

Step 3. Visit your potential homes

Enlisted Auctions recommends that you contact your Realtor, or Enlisted Auctions, to assist you in seeing the homes you have selected. The services of a Realtor (for a buyer) are compensated by the seller of the home. You will get expert help in negotiating, value opinions, contracts, etc at no cost to you. The Realtor will be able setup showing on the homes in which you are interested.

Step 4. Make an offer

This is where the auction method is slightly different than a traditional brokerage. In an auction, the price is determined through the bidding process. The bidding happens in an online auction in many cases. The buyers can place a “max bid” by submitting the maximum amount they are willing to spend, and the computer will bid for them. They can also bid incrementally as the price increases. In some auctions, there is a “Buy Now” price that allows the buyers to skip the auction process all together and buy the property without bidding.

You will need to register for the auction before placing a bid. You can register by going to the website, enlistedauctions.com, and clicking on the “View Catalog & Bid” button under the photo of the home. There will be a “Register to Bid” link shown. Click on that link and follow the instructions. It will ask you for basic information and your credit card information. The credit card will be verified as a real card but there will be no funds deducted. This information and card information is needed to verify that you are a real human.

Step 5. Purchase agreement

Congratulations! You bought a house! A representative from Enlisted Auctions will contact you after the auction to schedule a time to sign the purchase agreement. They will collect the deposit amount (shown in the terms for each auction) and provide you with copies of the agreement. You will take the agreement to your lender and they will start processing the paperwork right away. The closing agency or attorney will also receive a copy of the purchase agreement. This process usually takes about 30 days.

Step 6. Closing

Once the paperwork is completed you will go to the closing agency or attorney and sign the paperwork for your new home. They will collect the funds from your lender and hand you the keys to your new home. See, easy peazy lemon squeezy.

We look forward to helping you walk through the process of buying your home

Frequently Asked Questions:

From Sellers:

How much do you charge?

Enlisted Auctions does not have “cookie cutter” formula that is applied to each auction. Instead, we choose to look at each situation and create a package based around your needs and goals. Enlisted Auctions offers many different services, including moving, trash removal, cleaning, etc. In many cases, we can create a comprehensive package that includes all the services required in simple agreement. The consultation is free and has no obligation.

Can I put a minimum bid on my items?

Every item on the website has a starting bid of $5. Enlisted Auctions rarely offers the option for a reserve price. Over 99% of the items that are listed on the website sell with no reserve or minimum bid. We may consider an undisclosed reserve on high-dollar assets (vehicles, real estate, etc.).

How do I consign items to sell?

The process is simple. The first step is a phone call 540-337-3446. We will ask you to briefly describe your situation and items that you would like to sell. We may or may not recommend a free consultation. Enlisted Auctions can come pickup your items or you can bring them to us.

Is there anything you don’t sell?

Enlisted Auctions avoids selling spouses and children. Just kidding, of course. There are items that hold very little or no value. We take each item on a case by case basis. We welcome a call or email to discuss your items in question. We do provide a removal service that can handle the donation or disposal of items.

Can I visit your facility?

Of course! We welcome you to come see our galleries and meet our staff. The main office location is 2177 Tinkling Spring Rd., Stuarts Draft, VA 24477. This office is typically staffed from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday - Friday. We recommend calling or emailing before coming to ensure staff are on the premises.

How do you set the Buy Now prices?

Our team is experienced in a wide range of assets, using past experience and other international resources. We welcome your feedback on the Buy Now price(s) if you are unsatisfied with the value assigned by our team.

From Buyers:

How do I bid?

There is a webpage dedicated to the bidding and buying on the Enlisted Auctions website. Click here to find this page

What is the Buyer’s Premium?

The buyer’s premium is a 10% added to the final bid of each item. This fee is added to help us keep the commission rates at a level that encourages the seller to consign better quality and more items for your bidding pleasure. Please keep this fee in mind when placing your bids.

How do I know when and where to get my items?

The first item in each auction, Lot #0, will include all the information needed for the pickup location times. Each auction has a unique location. The auction location and pickup times will also be noted on your emailed invoice.

Why do you have limited pickup hours?

The logistics and cost of paying staff members to wait for an entire day or week for buyers would drive the cost of business much higher. We will do our best accommodate your needs if there is a reason you cannot pickup your items during the designated times. There may be an additional fee associate with a special pickup request.

Why do you extend the bidding on some items?

The bidding extension is an automated feature on the website. The purpose of the extended bidding is to allow you to submit a competing bid if another buyer outbids you as the time is nearly expired. The bidding time extension may differ from auction to auction, depending on the asset.

What does the Buy Now price mean?

The "Buy Now" items offer an opportunity for buyers to purchase an item immediately without waiting for the bidding to end. This item may be sold at any time for the "Buy Now" price, as long as the feature is available.

Why did the Buy Now feature disappear?

The “Buy Now” feature will no longer be available if the bidding reaches or exceeds 75% of the “Buy Now” price or in the last 24 hours the item is available for bidding. Once the “Buy Now” option disappears, buyers must bid on the item to purchase.

The time on my item was extended but the price did not increase

A group closing is used when similar items or items of a set are sold in separate lots. The group is identified by an annotation in the top right of the item listing. Item in the same group will all extend if any of the items in that group receive a bid as the time closes. This allows a buyer the opportunity to purchase the entire set or group, or purchase only one item in the group.

Some photos look like a duplicate photo

Items that are nearly identical may use the same photo. Enlisted Auctions recommends attending the preview for any auction to see each item and make your own determination of condition and value.

Do you measure every piece of furniture?

Enlisted Auctions tries to make each buying experience as easy as possible. We will take a photo of the measurements on most of the furniture we sell. Please call or email if you have any questions about the dimensions of a specific piece.

Can I bid as a tax-exempt buyer?

Yes! We will need to have a valid and signed ST-10 Virginia Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption on file. You can email or snail mail a signed copy to the office.

Do you test items (electronics, tools, ect)?

Enlisted Auctions does not test or guarantee the functionality of any item. All items are sold “as-is”. However, we welcome you to attend the preview and test the items. The items will be available for inspection and testing during the noted “Preview” time in Lot #0 of each auction.

Do you ship items?

Yes! We can ship items anywhere in the world. Please call or email for a quote on the item(s) you may be interested in having shipped

How do I pay for my items?

The payment for your items will be through a credit / debit card. The credit cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. The payment can be made through automatic debit of the saved credit card or by paying when you pick-up your items. Enlisted Auctions will also accept cash or qualified checks.

Why was my credit card charge automatically?

The online marketplaces throughout the world (eBay, Amazon, Walmart, etc) use this feature to help reduce the hassle of online buying. Our system is no different. We want your buying experience to be easy, fun, and hassle-free. Your credit card information is securely saved on the same servers that are used by Wall Street. If you wish to remove the credit card information from your account, feel free to call or email anytime.

How do I update my Credit Card information?

The updated credit card information can be made by logging into your account and selecting the "Edit Account" option under the menu in the top right (3 lines). Select "Update Payment Information" to enter your new card info.

Can I schedule a different time to pick up my items?

Yes, we can make special arrangements for you to pick up your items. There will be additional charges that apply for this convenience (note our convenience fee policy). Please call or email for a confirmation and / or quote for your specific needs.

How many DQ Blizzards does it take to have the alternate pickup fee waived?

If you talk to Kervin, he’ll do it for a mini Blizzard. Victor isn’t quite as easily convinced, but he caves pretty quickly.

Selling Your Real Estate at Auction

Enlisted Auctions has the ability to give our clients a unique advantage in the selling their property. We approach real estate using some new and cutting edge methods in addition to the time-tested checklist you are used to seeing. Allow me to explain...

1. Preparation. A property is only as good as the perception the potential buyers have. In most cases we do not recommend spending large amounts of money to renovate or remodel. However, there are some things that can be done to help the first impression.

A clean home tends to give the buyers a sense of comfort that the home was cared for. They understand that a seller who took the time to clean the cabinets and floors probably took the time for routine maintenance.

The photography of a home and property can make all the difference in the world. Enlisted Auctions has sold many properties to buyers who have never actually been to the property before signing the purchase agreement. A picture really is worth a thousand words. Those words can tell the buyer many things, both good and bad. While Enlisted Auctions is very careful to disclose all the issues known, there is skill to taking photos that accentuate the features of a property that the average person may miss. Drone photography and video can help bring the property to life for a buyer who is otherwise unable to visit the property in person.

2. Marketing. All of the preparation in the world is useless if nobody knows about it. Marketing is the collective effort of telling the world about your property. There are many ways we help you do this.

The world wide web has become our biggest friend in this regard. Your property will be posted on many different websites that buyers use for property searches. The Enlisted Auctions website is one of those sites. Hundred's of thousands of visitors frequent this site each month to see the items that are for sale. The exposure and reach of this website alone can be invaluable.

The MLS (Multiple Listing Service) is a network that all Realtors use to advertise their property. This is only one "tool" in the marketing plan but it is a huge one. The MLS allows buyers and other Realtors alike to search and find your property on one of the most used websites for real estate transactions. Enlisted Auctions will ensure that your property gets proper exposure to the MLS.

Facebook and social media sites can drive you to the brink of insanity, but they can also find the perfect buyer for your home. Social media sites have the ability to find the right buyer for you by filtering the candidates by geographic location, age, gender, income, interests, previous purchases, ect.

Print advertising is not as effective as it once was but that doesn't mean that it needs to be discounted. In some cases, the use of a newspaper ad or a postcard may be the perfect way to reach your target audience.

Enlisted Auctions would love to work with you in creating a marketing plan that fits your property and your budget

3. Listing. Using the power of these annoying computers, we are able to create a hybrid approach to selling your property. The traditional listing uses one number, a "pie in the sky" typically, and hopes to work down from there to find an acceptable offer. Auctions start low and hope to reach that "pie in the sky" number. The hybrid approach is to list the property at a number you are comfortable with. This number is our List Price. The list price is used as a "Buy Now" option on the MLS and on the auction site. The bidding will happen online and the buyers have the option of playing the auction game and trying to slide in under the list price, or they can skip the auction process and place an offer using the List Price as a guide. This feature encourages online buyers to bid early and bid often while setting the price expectancy at a reasonable level for everyone. The Buy Now option will disappear when the property reaches X% (usually 80%) of the list price. In some cases the final bid price will exceed the Buy Now price because of competitive bidders at the end of an auction.

4. Closing. In most cases the closing will happen within 30 days of the end of the auction. The entire process from the very first phone call to having the money in your pocket is typically about 60 days.

Still have questions? Give us a call today for a free consultation. We look forward to hearing from you! 540-337-3446

We understand computers can be confusing and frustrating. Trust me, we want to throw ours out the door almost daily. Below is a few steps that will hopefully help you to navigate the bidding process.

As always, please don't be shy. Ask any questions you may have.

Step 1. Make sure you are using a qualified browser. The browser is the door that connects your computer or device to the world wide web.

  • We have found that using Internet Explorer (see the icon below) is NOT the optimal browser. This browser is prone to viruses and will not allow you to access certain parts of the bidding experience.

 =

  • Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari (see the icons below) are excellent choices for a browser. Our system has been optimized to function on all three of these.

 or  or  =

Download Google Chrome by clicking here

Step 2. Find the auction action

The mobile experience may differ slightly from the desktop or PC experience. In either case, click on the "View Catalog and Bid" link to enter the auction

You also have the option to view the auction in a slightly different format. The following option will only work on a PC, not on a mobile device (phone)

 -

In this format, you can jump to any auction using the drop-down menu in the bottom right corner

Step 3. Sign-In or Register to bid

If you already have account, simply click the large Sign-In button shown below

Enter your email address, your password, and click the "Sign-In" button

If you get an error message, you may have to update your password. Click the link shown below

If your email address is not recognized, or if you do not have an account, click the "Sign Up" link shown below

Step 4. Understanding the item listing

The current bid amount is displayed below the "Bid" button

The next required bid is shown on the "Bid" button. Click this button twice to bid the next required bid amount. The number in this box indicates the next bid amount

The "Max Bid" button allows you to add or change your Max bid. This allows the system to bid on your behalf up to a specified amount

The time remaining is displayed in the bottom left corner of each item

Step 5. Your Item List

You have the opportunity to create your own item list. Any item you have bid on will automatically slide to this list

You can also select an item by clicking on the star next to the "Max Bid" button

Access "Your Items" by clicking on the tab shown below

Step 6. Returning to the item list and exiting the auction

To return to the item list from the single item view or from the "Your Items" list click the small arrow in the top left

To Exit this auction click the "X" in the top right

Step 7. Additional Features and Tools

See more photos for any item by clicking on the photo in the list view. This will open the item and give you the option to scroll through pictures by clicking the arrow.

Group Closings are identified by the group name in the top right corner. Items in a group will not close until all items in that group close. If one is extended, they all will extend.

The white button indicates you are the current high bidder

You can increase the bid amount by clicking the arrow in the item view screen. This jumps the bid to the dollar amount you select instead of bidding on your behalf to that number.

To view the bidding history of an item, go to the item view (click on the picture in the list view), and find the "History" button next to the "Max Bid" button

The notifications will show up in the top right corner. This is also where you can update or change your profile information.

Payment will be made with a credit or debit card after the invoicing is complete. Cards accepted are those with a logo of the following cards:

Visa, Mastercard, Discover

If you are like most of our countrymen, you discover that time has a way of gathering stuff in every available storage space. Many of our clients have a home that needs be completely cleaned before it is ready for the next phase of the process (selling, renting, ect...). While the online auction allows us to sell a lot of the items, inevitably there will be things that are not marketable and must be thrown away or donated. The Enlisted Auctions team can help! We have specialized equipment to help with the trash removal. Our staff will be able to completely clean out the home and leave the space broom swept. You cannot imagine how liberating it is to see a room that was piled deep become a clean and usable space once again.

We look forward to discussing your appraisal options with you in a no-obligation consult.

Senior Transition Package

This has quickly become one of our most popular options for seniors. Many seniors graduate to a smaller home or living arrangement as they become wiser. Enlisted Auctions offers a one-stop shop to make the transition smooth and care-free.

In a nutshell, Enlisted Auctions will help pack, move, and unpack the client into their new home. Once they have settled and are comfortable, we will return to the original home and turn everything else to cash. Trash removal, cleaning, painting, and general repair services are available as well.

Enlisted Auctions has helped clients make their transition all over the US. Happy clients can be found from California to Virginia and lots of states in between.

The package is offered as an a la carte. If there is any part of the process that friends or family can handle, we can offer a reduced price for less service. We want to make the entire process flow as smoothly as possible. We understand that the transition can be emotional and difficult, so the last thing that you need is a headache to deal with.

1. INITIAL CONSULT

An experienced and qualified representative will meet with you and/or your family. They will then discuss your goals and what your concerns may be. Next, a brief walk-through will allow the rep to have an idea of the items to be moved and those to be sold.

2. AGREEMENTS

After the representative has gathered all the information needed, we will generate a quote for review. If the quote is accepted, the agreements will be signed and the process can begin anytime. The time-line will be determined by you and based exclusively on your needs.

3. MOVE

The Enlisted Auctions staff will pack everything you want to take to the new home. Then, the movers will carefully move all of your items into a moving van. The movers and packers will convene at the new home and unload / unpack your items. They will set-up your furniture, beds, cabinets, and closets just as you want them.

4. CLEAN-UP

The remaining items will be sorted for auction. The marketable items will be sold and the items that are not marketable will be donated or disposed of. Our staff is able to clean the home to ensure that it is market ready. A quick paint job or small repair may help the home be more attractive for a prospective buyer or renter.

Dynamic Closing:

  • The closing time of an item is automatically extended an additional 3 minutes whenever a bid is placed within the last 3 minutes of the item’s closing time. Thus, if an item is set to close at 8:00pm, and a bidder places a bid on the item at 7:58pm, the item’s closing time will be extended to 8:01pm. After 24 hours, the Auctioneer and buyer agrees that no adjustment or refund will be made.
  • Images Don't Guarantee Items:
  • For demonstration purposes various equipment may be joined. Do not assume a lot consists of more than one item simply because they are connected or pictured together. Please inspect the lot numbers and read the descriptions.

Catalog Inaccuracies:

  • You are bidding on the described item not the photograph. Occasionally, the wrong photo is displayed. Always read the item description!! Please contact Enlisted Auctions if you find an error in the catalog.

  • All items are sold “AS IS, WHERE IS, with NO WARRANTY expressed or implied by the lot number affixed to the item without any implied or expressed warranty. Keep in mind that these items are used and may have light surface scratches and or dents / dings. Preview is suggested in order to gauge the condition of each piece. Descriptions are believed to be accurate but not guaranteed. Any mention of an item’s condition within the listed description is not an official grading of the item’s condition. When you are not certain of the condition or use of an item please bid accordingly. You are bidding on the described item, not the photo.

Removal:

  • Bidders are responsible for their own removal. Any item NOT picked up by the set time will be considered abandoned. Removal shall be at the expense, liability, and risk of the purchaser. Live Auctions

Thanks for your interest in a “live” auction. A live auction is a traditional auction with an auctioneer calling out the bids to an audience that is in front of him.

Advantages to a Live Auction:

  1. A live auction gives the local buyers a chance to see friends and neighbors. Most buyers enjoy live auctions because they are a social event.
  2. Live auctions typically create a “splash” in the neighborhood. A live auction environment is a fun and fast-paced entertainment hub.
  3. Most experienced buyers feel comfortable buying at a live auction. There are certain customers who may avoid computers and would rather see the items in person while bidding on them.
  4. To summarize: A live auction is a great way to have a "legendary event". Meaning, if your focus is to bring attention to an individual, in the case of an estate, or to an organization, in the case of a benefit auction, a "live" auction is a great way to do that.

Here's what the Live Auction process looks like:

1. INITIAL CONSULT

An auction professional will meet with you and/or your family at the home or property. Next, the representative will take a brief mental inventory to understand the type of items to be sold. If a written appraisal is available, we will use that to help streamline pre-auction planning and marketing strategy. Prospective dates, locations, and other options will then be discussed. Finally, a written or verbal quote will be given for the project. Once acceptance is granted, the progress resumes.

2. AGREEMENTS

The second visit typically begins with a formal handshake in form of an auction agreement. During this visit we will take lots of photos and create a generalized written inventory of the auction items. Then, Enlisted Auctions will secure a key or arrange access to the property for the future on-site work.

3. SETUP

A few days prior to the event, Enlisted Auctions will spend a day or more doing sorting and organizing the items to be sold. The items will be displayed under tents or in a fixed facility to help avoid weather contamination. In either case, auction security is available around the clock to help ensure the safe keeping of your items.

4. AUCTION DAY

Enlisted Auctions staff will arrive early to help answer any questions from prospective buyers. The auction continues until every item has crossed the block and any items not picked up or sold may remain on the property, be donated, or removed by Enlisted Auctions.

Our Values

These five values constitute the heart and soul of Enlisted Auctions. These values represent the things we consider to be non-negotiable in all of our business dealings.

1. Integrity
We will do what we say. Our word is our promise. In these times when a handshake and a solemn vow have seemingly lost their appeal, we still believe in following through and doing what is right.

2. Honesty
We will be candid and sincere in all matters pertaining to our business dealings. Whether it is with your first phone call to us, your initial consultation or in the letter of our contract, we say what we mean and follow through with those commitments.

3. Transparency
We will be forthright in all of our dealings. We appreciate the value of being open and straightforward. If you are uncertain about anything we discuss, we will discuss it again. We want every client and customer to consider us a friend and someone in whom they can put their trust and confidence.

4. Service
We will strive to exceed your expectations. We understand the value of getting and giving quality service. At Enlisted Auctions, you can trust that we will do our best to provide you with service that is unmatched by others in our industry.

5. Teamwork
We will partner with you to ensure your needs are met or exceeded. We understand that our team is able to accomplish more together than we can when we operate independently. The same is true when dealing with our clients. We value your input and carefully consider your concerns as they pertain to our commitment to you.

Online Auctions

Thanks for your interest in an online only auction. Our online auctions are held completely over the internet from bidding to final transaction.

Advantages to an online auction:

  1. With a live auction the typically participation is between 150 and 300 people, about 50% of those will actually be winning buyers. With an online auction the participation is almost always over 30,000. Some online auctions have 90,000+. Obviously, not nearly all of those will win an item, but the competition is MUCH stronger. The staggering number of participating buyers could never be reproduced with a local live auction offering the same products.
  2. Bidders can bid 24/7 on your items. At a live auction they only have a short window to place a bid on the item(s) they want. We can process an absentee bid for them at a live auction, but they are not emotionally involved in the bidding process. An online auction allows them to actively bid at 1 A.M. if they wish.
  3. The items can be sold on-site with no parking concerns. The only people that will be stopping at the home are the winning bidders. These buyers will come at different times and you will avoid a large crowd on your property at any given time. Smaller footprint, bigger results.
  4. Weather will have no impact on your event. If there is a torrential downpour during your live auction, many buyers will stay home. An online auction will continue unaffected by weather.
  5. Social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Linked-In, can take your buyers directly to the auction and allow them to bid at their desk during working hours. The vast majority of our population simply does not have time to go to an auction and stand around all day. This allows them to have fun and participate with very little time invested. We are able to bring the product to the market (buyers) instead of trying to entice the market to the product.
  6. Risk management and liability are always a concern. A live auction causes traffic congestion (both motor vehicle and foot). An internet auction reduces those risks significantly by reducing the number of people at the residence by up to 80%. In addition, for a seller or executor, the risk of not having a substantial buyer base (inclement weather, other major distractions) at the live auction can dramatically affect the sales prices. With an internet auction, we can place your item(s) in front of thousands of buyers with the click of button.
  7. All of the online auctions have an auto-extend feature. On eBay a person can swoop in at the last second and “snipe” a bid. If an item on the Enlisted Auctions site receives a bid in the last minutes it will automatically extend the bidding time for that item. This allows the other bidders to counter bid, thus driving up the price until all hearts are satisfied. Is that victory you are smelling?

How It Works

1: CONSULTATION

What happens when you place that first call? A member of our staff will set up a free no-obligation consultation with you. This consists of a visit to the property, whether personal property or real estate.

Our services are typically reimbursed with a commission of your auction proceeds. These rates vary depending on the options you choose and the property to be sold. On the initial visit we will discuss your different options and the advantages and disadvantages to all of them. We will also consider your time-line and do our best to accommodate those needs..

2: DECIDE VENUE

Based on your needs, we can help you decide what option is right for you:

Online Only Auctions

 - In our Gallery

 - At your property

Live (Traditional) Auctions

 - In our Gallery

 - At your property

3: AUCTION AGREEMENT

The next step in the process is a formal handshake, the auction agreement. Our contract is a single page document spelling out the services we agree to provide for you as our client.

This contract will have the details of the auction such as the dates and commission rates. This contract protects you against default from an auction company.

*A signed auction contract is require by law in most states

4: PREPARE

Then it is on to the “elbow grease” work.

For a Gallery auction, we will send a moving crew to pack, load, and move your items to our Gallery. These items will then be sorted and organized in our facility.

For an on-site  auction, your items will be organized and staged so we can portray them in a way that will be most advantageous to you.

5: PHOTOGRAPH

Our trained photographers will take multiple photos of every item or group of items we are selling in your event. In our Gallery, we have specialized lighting, backgrounds, and photo equipment to truly highlight your items.

6: INVENTORY

The Enlisted Auctions crew has the privilege of dealing with a LOT of cool stuff each day. With the help of national resources, we do our very best to correctly and accurately inventory your items. Many of our clients don't realize the true value of their items until they see competitive bidding working its magic.

*Average setup, inventory, and photograph time for an estate auction is approximately 10 hours. Every situation is different ...

7: AUCTION TIME!

The auction will go "live" once the above steps are complete. This means that anyone on this green earth with an internet connection will be able see, bid, and buy your stuff. They don't have to call and leave an absentee bid, they don't have to drive for hours at a chance to bid on something, they don't have to wait for 8 hours on a Saturday morning during their kids ball game to place a bid. They can bid 24/7 from their recliner. There is an amazing amount of website activity between 10 PM and 6 AM. Technology at work for you!

Most of our online auctions will be open for bidding for 10-14 days. Each case in unique and those times may vary based on different factors.

*In 2015 Enlisted Auctions averaged over 41,000 views per auction

8: SETTLEMENT

The settlement check(s) are written within 10 days of the close of the auction. Most of our clients have no money invested in this entire process. All of the expenses of the event are simply deducted from the settlement check.

*If your event was hosted on-site, we will be able to leave your property broom clean and ready for the next chapter in the book of "Ye Ole Home"

Working For You

Online Auction
We provide online auction services that include picking up, organizing, photographing, and cataloging your items for online bidding.  This aspect of our business is growing at an ever-increasing rate.  Sellers recognize this as a great way to gain maximum exposure for their treasures and buyers understand this way to be the easiest to maneuver and the wisest use of their time.  Once your auction is posted, items are available for bidding 24/7 until the day the auction closes.  This is by far the most popular auction venue we offer and online bidding platforms are changing the auction industry.

Live
While we do not utilize this format as frequently as we once did, this option is still available.  If you are looking to maximize profits and/or minimize your time commitment, the Live Auction is probably not going to work for you.  If you are looking for a social event that will bring folks together or if you want to honor someone’s estate, this may be a great option.  We still enjoy the opportunity to coordinate a live auction, but it is not the best option for many of our buyers and sellers.

Real Estate

Enlisted Auctions has licensed Realtors on staff ready to work. We enjoy using our unique and extremely effective approach to selling real estate to buyers both near and far. All the details of our process can be found on the "Real Estate Services" page.

Senior Transition Package

This package has been one of the most popular options for the seniors we work with. It is a hands-off approach for our seniors as they graduate to a small home or to retirement community setting. Learn all about it by jumping over to our "Senior Transition Package" page.

Appraisals

Do you have a piece of furniture or a collection in your basement that makes you wonder, "What's it worth?" You are certainly not alone. We would love to help you learn what it's worth. Give us a call today to talk to a certified appraiser about your items.

Total Clean-Out

We know your home is probably spotless, exactly like ours. I kid, of course. Some of our clients feel completely overwhelmed by all the stuff left in a property they have inherited or recently became responsible to maintain. The total clean-out service might be the right fit for you. Learn more about it on the "Total Clean-Out" page.

Benefit Auction Services
Our team enjoys working with many non-profit organizations to help them reach fund raising goals. This is not an event where we ask the members of the group to bring their left-over yard sale items. These are events where we work with dedicated members of the organization to bring new and exciting ideas to the table. We have a nationally certified Benefit Auction Specialist that will consult with your group to show the latest trends and newest ideas that help your group see major profits.

Enlisted Auctions is the premier online auction venue for the Shenandoah Valley.  We are a full-service auction company with over two decades of experience.  We handle over 200 online auctions each year, as well as a number of other services.  Our staff has worked together to sell millions of dollars in personal property, real estate, and auction-related services.

We currently operate 4 full-time galleries in Stuarts Draft, Virginia and provide auction services for numerous on-site online auctions around the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont region each year.  We welcome hundreds of new bidders each year to our online auction platform and are privileged to host a number of benefit auctions each year.

If you have a need that we cannot meet, we will gladly connect you with one of affiliates or with someone in our network of professionals located throughout the Shenandoah Valley who can.  We are here to serve you and consider our ability to find solutions to your changing world among our best assets.
